A mother in California is living her worst nightmare after an apparent nap time mishap at her son's daycare ended with the 18-month-old's tragic death.
Danielle
Morin said she dropped her son Deacon at Little Impressions Daycare in
Fontana on Wednesday morning on her way to work.
When she returned to pick him up, Morin said she was met with the sight of paramedics trying to revive him.
Daycare
staff told Morin that Deacon was somehow strangled by the amber
teething necklace he was wearing while he slept during nap time, according to KABC.

Deacon
was rushed to a hospital, where Morin made the heartwrenching decision
to remove her son from life support on Monday afternoon.
Now
Morin wants to shut down Little Impressions Day Care, which
the California Department of Social Services reportedly placed on
probation for three years in 2015.
In a tearful Facebook post, Morin wrote Monday:
"Our
sweet baby Deacon peacefully went to be with the Lord today. I have
made the decision to donate his organs so another family's prayers can
be answered... This is the darkest day of my life but I know Deacon is
with the Lord and at peace shining down upon us.
"Do [sic] to my choice to donate, we do not have a timeline for Deacons services and will let you know when we do."
In a subsequent post, the bereaved mother vented her frustrations with the daycare center, which she characterized as negligent.
"I
would like to clear a few things up for the sake of my son," Morin
wrote. "First of all 'Little impressions daycare/Marriott daycare'
in Fontana do not know the facts and are trying to hide there lack of
supervision by stating that Deacon choked on his Amber necklace. This is
not the case and his medical examinations have shown another story.
Deacon was strangled at daycare. Whether or not his beads were involved
is still under investigation."
A
message left at Little Impressions Day Care was not immediately
returned Tuesday afternoon. A number listed for Jimenez Family Child
Care, the company listed on the daycare's license, was no longer in
service.
A GoFundMe created to help offset the cost of Deacon's funeral arrangements has raised over $26,000.
"Our
sweet baby Deacon peacefully went to be with the Lord today," the
fundraiser page reads. "Danielle has made the decision to donate his
organs so another family's prayers can be answered.
"We
ask for you to continue to pray that his organs stay strong throughout
the transport and implant process for these sick children and their
families. We can't thank you enough for your love, prayers and
donations."
