Rohr Worried About Eagles Goalkeepers Present Form

Super Eagles’ Coach, Gernot Rohr, is worried that his goalkeeping prospects, Carl Ikeme and Vincent Enyeama, are going through difficult spells in their clubs barely one month to Nigeria Russia 2018 World Cup qualifier away to Zambia.
Rohr has indicated his interest in persuading the retired former Super Eagles’ Captain, Vincent Enyeama, top return to the national team during the qualifiers for the Russia 2018 World Cup.

Available to the German are the good goalkeepers, Ikeme, Ikechukwu Ezenwa and Emmanuel Daniel. Ikeme has been the nation’s number one shot stopper since Enyeama decided to call time on his national team career. But his recent form has been given Rohr sleepless nights that the German is worried that it could cost Nigeria dearly when they meet Zambia on October 9.
Rohr confirmed during the pre match conference before Nigeria’s game against Tanzania, that he plans to hold talks with erstwhile captain of the team Vincent Enyeama regarding a return back to the team.
The talks are yet to take place, with Rohr taking his time before deciding on a date for the talks. But things could move a bit faster, no thanks to the poor form of present number one shot stopper Carl Ikeme, reports owngoalnigeria.com.
Ikeme has not been at his best for Wolverhampton Wanderers and, after conceding four goals as they crashed to Burnley 4-0, he could be dropped by manager Walter Zenga for their subsequent games, less than a month before Nigeria’s first World Cup qualifiers against Zambia.
However, even Vincent Enyeama is currently not faring any better at Lille as the 34-year-old also conceded four goals last week against Monaco in a 0-4 loss in the Ligue 1. The second time he is picking the ball out of his net more than two times this season after conceding three goals in a 1-3 loss to Metz.
