Bill Gates Expresses Concern For The Health Situation In The Northeast

The world’s richest man, Bill Gates says has expressed deep concern for the health situation in Northeast Nigeria – affected by Boko Haram insurgency.
Highlights:

  • Speaking with BBC News Pidgin, Mr Gates said Nigeria is one of the places he has interest in because the country is “important” to the world.
  • Gates said his foundation’s projects in Nigeria are particularly pertinent because of the country’s population.
  • He said the Gates Foundation is working to reduce the mother-child mortality rates.
  • To achieve the aforementioned, he is working with the government, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), and Aliko Dangote, Africa’s richest man.
