The world’s richest man, Bill Gates says has expressed deep concern for the health situation in Northeast Nigeria – affected by Boko Haram insurgency.

- Speaking with BBC News Pidgin, Mr Gates said Nigeria is one of the places he has interest in because the country is “important” to the world.
- Gates said his foundation’s projects in Nigeria are particularly pertinent because of the country’s population.
- He said the Gates Foundation is working to reduce the mother-child mortality rates.
- To achieve the aforementioned, he is working with the government, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), and Aliko Dangote, Africa’s richest man.
