EPL Stars All Absent From FIFPRO 2016 Team Of The Year

                          
 Premier League had no representation in the the 2016 World XI that was announced during Monday’s inaugural edition of The Best Fifa Awards ceremony in Zurich.Organised by Fifpro, the body that represents players’ associations from 69 countries, the team is decided by professional footballers, with 26,516 voting this year.

                          
Premier League-based players have made the team 24 times, a distant second to the 80 selections for the Spanish top flight, with La Liga dominating the 2016 selection, which was announced at Zurich’s TPC Studios and broadcast on Fifa’s website and social media channels on Monday evening.
                           
Fifty-five players were named on the 'shortlist' including quite a few who play in the Premier League including: Claudio Bravo (Manchester City), David de Gea (Manchester United), Hector Bellerìn (Arsenal), David Luiz (Chelsea), Kevin De Bruyne (Manchester City), Eden Hazard (Chelsea), N’Golo Kante (Chelsea), Mesut Ozil (Arsenal), Dimitri Payet (West Ham United), Paul Pogba (Manchester United), David Silva (Manchester City), Sergio Aguero (Manchester City), Zlatan Ibrahimovic (Manchester United), Alexis Sanchez (Arsenal) and Jamie Vardy (Leicester City).

FIFA 2016 XI: Manuel Neuer; Dani Alves, Sergio Ramos, Thiago Silva, Marcelo; Paul Pogba, Luka Modric, Andres Iniesta; Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Neymar.
