FC IfeanyiUbah sold over 30,000 replica jerseys and made a profit during the recent Federation Cup final in Lagos.
And
it is an example chairman of the League Management Company (LMC), Shehu
Dikko, would wish other Nigeria premier league clubs should follow.
“I
have always said this, clubs should look inwards and come up with means
by which they could generate income in order to ease their cumbersome
financial burden,” Shehu said.
“Look at FC IfeanyiUbah – I was told by their chairman that the club
sold 30,000 Jerseys during the Federation Cup final and the profit from
that was used to finance the team’s dinner party after the cup final.
“I am sure other teams can do better than this.”
