Former Nigeria international Sunday Oliseh who was on his
unveiling as the Super Eagles manager back in 2015 likened to Machester
City City manager Pep Guardiola believes side may just have sent a
strong message to their opponents after Tuesday's convincing victory
over Barcelona.
Goals from Ikay Gundogan and Kevin De Bruyne made sure Guardiola's men are one win away from reaching the Champions League knockout stages after coming from behind to secure a thrilling 3-1 win over the La Liga Champions at the Etihad.
The former Borussia Dortmund and Ajax man who was in charge of the
Eagles for seven months before his resignation last February in his
assessment of a City side that were without Nigeria's prolific forward
Kelechi Iheanacho against the Catalans said:
"Man. City 3 Barcelona 1,This is breathtaking Top class CL football
on display.First half we had Messi, now De bruyne has taken over.
"Like him or not, with this victory,Guardiola & Man. City just
sent a strong message to all opponents.Just 4 months in charge &
this good,wow!." Oliseh tweeted
Guardiola's methods may have been questioned after City's 4-0 defeat
at the Nou Camp but the victory which is the most significant win of his
reign at the Etihad so far may have offered up the rich promise of more
to come.
