OPC Vows To Resist The Humiliation Of Tinubu

Bola Ahmed Tinubu
The Yoruba socio-cultural group, Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC), has warned that it would resist any attempt to denigrate and humilate the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The group gave the warning in a release signed by Comrade Sina Akinpelu on behalf of the National Coordinating Council (NCC) and made available yesterday to journalists in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

He said with the revelation coming from the First Lady, Aisha Buhari, it is now very obvious that a certain cabal comprising of Northern Fulani oligarchy had hijacked the government of President Muhammadu Buhari.
According to him, the cabal has not only succeeded in hijacking the apparatus of government but are bent on seizing the structure of the APC, which people like Tinubu and his fellow team of progressives laboured to build.
Akinpelu stated that the OPC is aware that the cabal believed that Asiwaju Tinubu is the only threat, an obstacle to realization of their pernicious agenda of been in charge of the present administration, insisting that they cannot go far.
While describing Tinubu as an illustrious Yoruba leader who has paid his dues in the political firmament of the country, he said there is no Nigerian leader either dead or alive who has achieved what Tinubu has achieved Nigeria.
He said, “Like him or hate him, Tinubu is a politician who understands the rudiments of politics. It is because of his mastery of politics that has made President Muhammadu and host of others to be where they are today Tinubu, a shrewd strategist and a well grounded politician is always a step ahead of his contemporaries. That is why this cabal is doing everything to weaken the structure Tinubu used years to build.”
He insisted that no amount of calumny by the cabal will change the fact that Tinubu is a ‘record breaker’ whose feat will no doubt go down in history, stating that without Tinubu and the votes from the South West, President Muhammadu Buhari would not have had the opportunity of becoming the President.
“It is however very sad that a zone that played such a pivotal role in ensuring victory for Mr. President is today being neglected and its leaders relegated”, Akinpelu added.
While warning that Tinubu should not be treated like the late businessman; Chief MKO Abiola who he said was killed by the Northern oligarchy; he lauded Chief Ayo Adebanjo, Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State and other individuals and Yoruba groups who have spoken against the gang-up against Senator Tinubu.
“The Governor of Ekiti State, Mr. Ayodele Fayose is truly a Yoruba man. While other governors who rode on Tinubu’s back to power have kept quiet; Fayose despite not being a member of the APC came out to defend this Yoruba leader”, he stated.
