Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote has said his refinery which is under construction in Lagos is 8 times bigger than the whole of Victoria Island, Lagos State.
Dangote said this during a visit to the refinery by Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, Lagos State governor, Akinwumi Ambode, Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun among others.
It is expected to be the world’s largest greenfield refinery upon completion and projected to refine 600,000 barrel of oil per day.
“You wont appreciate the size of the place, maybe because you have not gone round, some of you,” Dangote said.
“But this place is actually eight time Victoria Island, that is to give you the concept. The entire Victory Island, you get eight times of it here, so that is how big it is.”
