A woman is offering up her virginity for more than $400,000 after her family lost everything in a devastating house fire.
Katherine Stone, 20, decided to move to one of Nevada’s infamous brothels last year so she could sell her virginity.
Her controversial decision has shocked many who feel she should be doing it for love but she claims that’s exactly what she’s doing.
“People say you are supposed to do it for love. But if you think about it, I am doing it because I love my family,” speaking to CNN, Katherine said.
In 2014, her family lost everything after a devastating fire broke out at their home in Seattle and they reportedly didn’t have any insurance to cover them.
That’s when Katherine came across an advert on Facebook about the brothel and the money she could make.
Stone said: ‘It made me think, “Wow, it’s a chance at fixing all that I need to fix.” I have the right to choose what I do with my body. And in this troubling economy, do you blame me?’
So she contacted the brothel’s owner, Dennis Hof, who owns the Moonlite Bunny Ranch, and he accepted the deal which involves him getting half of the bid.
The brothel owner told CNN: ‘It is her choice. I don’t think it is a good idea for a girl to drink six tequilas and lose her virginity on the bathroom floor in a frat house. If she wants to sell it, I think that’s great.’
Katherine Stone hasn’t taken an offer yet, with her virginity bid at more than $400,000, and is just offering non-intercourse services at the brothel at the moment.
The 20-year-old, who plans to go to law school in the future, says she’s waiting for a man with who she feels she has a ‘connection’.
