Siasia Gives NFF 2 Weeks Ultimatum To Pay The Salary He's Being Owed

Samson Siasia
Unless there is a dramatic change in the fortunes of the Nigeria Football Federation, the nation’s football governing body could witness a drama on its premises if plans by former head coach of the bronze-winning Olympic football team, Samson Siasia are anything to go by.

It was gathered that Siasia’s salary arrears are still being held and the coach who toiled with the U-23 team to win the solitary bronze medal for Nigeria at the Rio Olympics is not finding it funny. He has threatened to storm NFF’s secretariat and sit tight even at night until he five-month salary is paid. He also made case for his assistants who are also owed salary arrears.
“Trust me, you don’t need my distractions before your next game. It won’t be healthy for NFF, please.”
In a letter he sent via e-mail to the General Secretary of the NFF, Dr Mohammed Sanusi, Siasia said, one month after the Olympics their salaries had not been paid and there was no explanation to the coaches.
Siasia then appealed to SG and the President to them in two weeks . “If I don’t get my salary in two weeks, I will come to the office and stay there until I get paid . If I have to come there every day until I get paid that’s what am going to do.”
A source at the football house confirmed the receipt of Siasia’s letter and said the NFF scribe has since responded to Siasia letter.
Sanusi, on his part pleaded with the coach for understanding as the money that was earmarked for the coaches’ salaries was intact but said they can’t access it.
He further said they were in the final lap of getting the money transferred to that account and withdrawal modalities and begged Siasia to exercise more patience as the wait will soon be over.
