Macron Wins French Presidency By Decisive Margin Over Le Pen
The pro-EU centrist Emmanuel Macron has won the French presidency with a decisive victory over the far-right Marine Le Pen that his supporters hailed as holding back the tide of populism.
Macron, 39, a former economy minister who ran as a “neither left nor right” independent promising to shake up the French political system, took 65.1% to Le Pen’s 34.9%, according to initial projections from early counts.

Issa Hayatou Voted Out As CAF Head After 29 Years
Issa Hayatou was voted out as president of the African soccer confederation on Thursday after 29 years in charge, losing to challenger Ahmad of Madagascar in a major shakeup for the sport on the continent.The 70-year-old Hayatou had ruled African soccer since 1988 and was FIFA’s most senior vice president because of his status as the longest-serving executive at the world soccer body. He also lost that position Thursday, and his place on FIFA’s ruling council.

A serving female corps member has been reported dead after she met with an untimely death in a ghastly motor accident.The corps member, Francisica Okonkwo whose one year compulsory service to her fatherland is expected to round off next month died yesterday in a fatal accident along 9th mile round about in Enugu State.
According to the news source, the accident occurred after the corps member left her Community Development Service, CDS, meeting.
