FIFA Bans Amos Adamu For Two Years


FIFA Ethics Committee has banned former Nigerian sports administrator, Amos Adamu, for two years.The committee has been investigating alleged breaches of its code of ethics by Adamu since March 2015.It recommended a two-year ban and a fine in December.
Adamu was a former FIFA executive committee member for four years, before his initial suspension for three years in 2010. The 62-year-old was found guilty of asking for money in exchange for World Cup votes, an accusation he denied.

Federal Government Activates Ogidigben $20bn Gas Industrial Park

The Federal Government in conjunction with oil-producing communities in several states in the Niger Delta region is working out a plan to put in place a gas industrial park valued at about $20B through a Public-Private Partnership model.
Tagged the Gas Revolution Industrial Park, GRIP, Ogidigben, the project will cover 2700 hectares with fertilizer, methanol, petrochemicals, & aluminium plants located in the park that has already been designated as a Tax Free Zone by the FG.

Air Peace Aircraft Suffers Bursted Tyre At Lagos Airport

A Boeing 737 aircraft belonging to Air Peace on Monday suffered a burst tyre while preparing for take-off at the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos.The News Agency of Nigeria gathered that the incident occurred at about 11a.m. forcing the pilot to abort the flight.The aircraft was to convey 105 passengers from Lagos to Abuja.

Two Chinese Arrested For Importing N5bn Fake Tyres

The Standards Organisation of Nigeria has arrested two Chinese nationals, Taolung Shen and Xu Jing Yau, who were said to have dealt in substandard tyres worth over N5bn.
The suspects, according to a statement on Sunday, were paraded following their arrest, and the sealing of the warehouse where they had been cloning different sizes of tyres under different brand names.

Emir Of Katsina's Mother Passes On

Hajiya Aminatu Mai Babban Daki, the mother of the Emir of Katsina, Alhaji Abdulmumin Kabir Usman, has passed away.The news of her death was confirmed by the Secretary of Katsina Emirate Council and Sallama Katsina, Bello Mammam Ifo.
She died Saturday evening around 4.30 pm in Katsina after a protracted illness.
The late Aminatu will be buried tomorrow according to Islamic rites, after funeral prayers at the Emir Palace by 9am.
She is survived by 9 children.
