The Oluwo of Iwo, Oba AbdulRasheed Akanbi is today celebrating his 50th Birthday anniversary.The event which is also expected to mark second year of the frontline monarch on the throne had among other dignitaries Governor Rauf Aregbesola of the State of Osun, the Minister for Communication, Barr Adebayo Shittu, Etsu Nupe, Imperial Majesty, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar in attendant.Others are Senator Florence Ita-Giwa, Former SSG to Oyo State government, Mr. Olayiwola Adekojo.Though former Nigeria president, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo could not make it to the event but sent representation.

President Muhammadu Buhari Saturday, congratulated the Super Eagles on their victory over the Chipolopolo of Zambia at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo, Akwa Ibom.

A statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, reads:

The US government has approved the possible sale to Saudi Arabia of an advanced missile defence system worth $15bn, the Pentagon said.The Terminal High Altitude Area Defence (THAAD), which has already been supplied to Saudi Arabia’s neighbours Qatar and the United Arab Emirates, is one of the most capable anti-missile batteries in the US arsenal and comes equipped with an advanced radar system.

Paramount ruler and the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, on Friday, made a case for the unity of the country even as he called for dialogue with members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).The Ooni of Ife, who made this known when he paid a courtesy visit to the Abia state governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu, in Umuahia on Friday said he was in Abia “to preach oneness of the country and to build bridges across the entire country.”

Latin American pop star Shakira has reportedly ended her relationship with Barcelona defender Gerard Pique after six years.The longtime couple, who started dating in 2011, have reportedly split. There have been speculations about a possible split for some time as the couple have not been seen together for three months, but Spanish website Cotilleo, claims to have confirmed that the rumors are true from a source close to the duo. However, Shakira and Gerard are yet to make a statement of their own.

Controversial Olivia Okibe , who trended few months back after she called off her wedding to her Malaysian based husband, claiming she never dated him, took to her Facebook to call out her Ex, telling him about her involvement in cultism and the need to seek protection.Olivia in her notice to all fraternities, claimed to have walked away from her marriage because the man Emoney, had dark secrets which she couldn’t reveal to anyone.

I have come to realise over the years that there are some things that guys do to push women off, but they might be wondering why ladies do not find them attractive.Below are few things that could be called turn-offs that guys do without even knowing.

A groom in Singapore decided to teach his cheating bride a lifetime lesson by playing a footage of her alleged infidelity in front of their wedding guest.According to Mirror, their loved ones and guest were stunned when they saw the bride ‘behaving intimately’ with another man on the screen.

The video as reported began with the bride and the groom’s relationship so far but suddenly, there was a clip of the bride with another man going into a hotel room and afterwards had intercourse in the room.

A Brazilian nursery school guard burned four toddlers and their teacher to death after spraying them with alcohol and setting them alight Thursday in an attack which horrified the nation.Dozens of people were also hurt in the blaze while the guard, who was reported to be mentally ill, died after succumbing to his own burn injuries.The tragedy occurred in a modest quarter of Janauba, a city of 70,000 about 600 kilometers (370 miles) north of Belo Horizonte city.

The Bayelsa State Government has inaugurated a 12-member rapid response team comprising top medical professionals to prevent the spread of the suspected monkeypox, a viral epidemic that has infected 13 persons in the state.Besides the 12 members, which make up the core team, other sub-teams to carry out contact tracing of patients has also been set up.The State Commissioner for Health, Prof. Ebimitula Etebu, who inaugurated the committee reassured the citizens that there was no need to panic.

Efforts to resolve the controversy caused by the recent letter written to President Muhammadu Buhari by the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu, on the activities of the Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, Dr. Maikanti Baru, got underway on Friday with series of meetings at the Presidential Villa.While Buhari met with the minister for about an hour on the matter in his office, Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo also met separately with Baru.

Uber Drivers Arrested For Allegedly Robbing Female Clients At Night

The Lagos State police command has arrested two Uber drivers who specialised in robbing women of their valuables at gunpoint.The drivers, Fosta Rufus, 30, and Franklin Jogbodo, according to the Special Anti Robbery squad boss, Mohammed Sanusi, picked up their targets around Lekki, Ajah and Victoria Island areas of Lagos.This is the second of such arrest of Uber drivers in Lagos. It was gathered that the suspects were accused of robbing their victims of valuables such as jewelry, expensive phones and cash, and their victims are mainly ladies who go out at night.

Senator Isah Misau, representing Bauchi Central in the Upper Chamber really does have a truckload of dirt on the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris.Raising fresh allegations against the IGP at plenary today, Misau said, “The IG is openly having two relationships with police women which he gave special promotion. One of them is Amina and one of them is DSP Esther which the IG on 15th of last month got married to. Under police act and regulation you cannot marry a serving woman police unless that woman retires”.

The Former Big Brother Housemate T-boss and singer Ellyman has been seen in Zanzibar having a really nice time on a vacation and taking some cool photos.It’s not quite clear what going on but they are most likely working on a project together as new photos of the singer, Ellyman who recently visited Zanzibar, Tanzania along with reality TV star Tboss pops up online.One of the photos shows Ellyman shirtless kissing Tboss as she clings tight to him.

A leaked memo written by Ibe Kachikwu, the Minister of State for Petroleum resources, surface yesterday. In it, Kachikwu blew the whistle on the Group Managing Director for corrupt practices and insubordination.

Collapsing Stage Prop Injures US Rocker Marilyn Manson

Shock rocker Marilyn Manson was rushed to a hospital Saturday after he was crushed under a falling stage prop during a concert in New York.The theatrical singer is known for his violent imagery, but the crowd soon realized that the incident was no stunt and his show was abruptly ended mid-way.

A representative said that Manson was taken to a hospital but offered no further details of his condition or the incident at the 2,200-capacity Hammerstein Ballroom in Midtown Manhattan.

An unidentified young man has been arrested by civillians at Agbani in Enugu state on Sunday, 1st October, Nigeria’s independence day.The alleged thief was caught red-handed in an attempt steal a parked motorcycle at Agbani.The suspected thief was reported to hail from Ebonyi state.It was also reported that the suspect was roughed up and beaten before he was handed over to the Local Police.

President Muhammadu Buhari is in Maiduguri, Borno State Capital to celebrate the 57th independence anniversary with troops.

A source at the presidency confirmed this on Sunday.

Garba Shehu, senior special assistant to the president on media and publicity, also confirmed that the president was on his way to Maiduguri.
