Man Striped, Chased Out Of Oba of Benin’s Palace For Committing Sacrileg

A man, Dr. Ogiugo, an indigene of Benin, has been chased out of the palace of the Oba of Benin, His Royal Majesty, Oba Ewuare II, for allegedly committing a sacrilege against the palace.
The incident occurred during the weekly peace mediation by the monarch last Thursday.
The elderly man had been in the palace where he had a case adjudged by the Oba.

Ibadan-Based Broadcaster Accused Of Murder Granted N2m Bail

An Oyo State High Court on Tuesday granted bail to an Ibadan-based broadcaster, Oriyomi Hamzat, and four others accused of the murder of a teenager.
Justice M.I. Sule granted each defendant bail in the sum of N2 million with two sureties in like sum.
Mr. Sule said one of the sureties must be a civil servant on Grade Level 14 while the other must be a business man.

The corporation released the list on Tuesday, saying it has banned the 5 songs from being aired across the Nigerian airwaves.

Police Charges Man For Impersonating Oba Akiolu

A young man, who allegedly impersonated the Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu, was yesterday arraigned before an Ebute Meta Magistrate’s Court, Lagos over N15 million fraud.
The suspect, Ayodele Babalola, 34, who claimed to be a mechanic, was arraigned on three-count charges of conspiracy, obtaining under false pretext, impersonation and intent to defraud.
At his arraignment, the Prosecutor, Oladele Adebayo, a Police Inspector, informed the court that the accused committed the offences in June this year at No. 2, Ogunkoya Street Ekutu, Ibeju-Lekki.
He alleged that the accused falsely presented himself as Oba Babatunde Rilwan Akiolu to one Ajoke Moriselade under the pretext that he has a slot at the proposed Lekki Airport investment for her.
